Take heart, my friends - anyone who tells you that memorizing long lists of vocabulary comes easy is a liar. Memorizing can't be easy by definition. So what to do then if you need to remember those new words? The answer is simple - do not memorize them. Does a young child memorize when learning to speak their first language? No. The child keeps repeating after their parents time and time again until the word is forever stuck in their memory. Our only problem is that we don't have that much time. Therefore, our practice should be more efficient. Make up paragraphs or even short stories to include as much vocabulary as possible. Do not write separate sentences - go for contextual writing instead. Read your stories aloud. Read a book with a simple plot - such writers tend to use the same words over and over. Write words down on post-it notes and stick them where you can see them more often. Start doing that regularly, and you'll be amazed at how soon the results will show.
